Help us get to the Clubhouse Network Teen Summit in Boston!
We are seeking your help to send two members of the YWCA Canberra Clubhouse to the biennial Clubhouse Network Teen Summit in Boston in July 2020. The Summit is a week-long youth leadership event that brings together youth from the 100 Clubhouses internationally.
With your support, we can send two college students from Tuggeranong, Ella and Emily, who have been Clubhouse members since it opened in 2014. They are both passionate about science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) and want to forge careers in that space.
At Teen Summit, the girls will explore issues relevant to them and propose solutions through the creative use of innovative, high-end technologies. They will:
- work on projects based on needs that they have identified in their community
- share information about our Clubhouse with other participants, such as our award-winning What’s Your Reality project
- attend a college and career fair
- visit local businesses and meet with professionals from organisations relevant to their areas of interest
- participate in a discussion about potential future roles for youth in the Network.
